Texas Online Preparatory School
Texas Online Preparatory School (TOPS), a program of Huntsville Independent School District, provides students in grades 3–12 with an engaging education customized to individual student needs. To attend, students in grades 3–8 must have been promoted to their current grade level, satisfied all attendance requirements, and have satisfactory scores on STAAR assessments. High school students should be on track to graduate and have satisfactory scores on EOC assessments. All incoming students (excluding military dependents) must show proof of prior enrollment in a Texas public school. TOPS students have numerous opportunities to engage in a holistic education. These opportunities include AP® courses, dual enrollment options in college courses, and graduating with endorsement plans such as STEM and arts and humanities. Students can also participate in National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society as well as a wide-range of student clubs, outings, and field trips.
Texas Virtual Academy
Texas Virtual Academy provides middle and high school students a personalized education tailored to their needs and helps them work toward earning a high school diploma. The curriculum includes subjects such as art, music, world languages, and many electives. As a Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd®) charter school, there are weekly in-person expectations for students who are not performing on grade-level or did not pass a prior-year state assessment. In-person assessments and instructional sessions occur on Saturdays at several Responsive Education Solution campuses across the state.
